'This text offers a good and contemporary perspective on crucial areas of employment relations. It is a hugely successful narrative that not only puts the student at the heart of issues core to the employment relationship but does so in a way that they understand what is happening.'

Visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster
Director of Employment Relations, Chemical Industries Association.
?Whilst the book?s strong practical focus makes it different from many other texts in employee and industrial relations, it is certainly not devoid of theory. Quite the reverse in fact, but it just so happens that theoretical ideas are woven into the substantive material in each of the chapters in a way which provides a terrific grounding for students who want to know more about why employee relations takes such a variety of forms in different organisations.?
