About the authors

Barbara Gough
Barbara Gough is a training consultant specialising in designing and delivering bespoke courses in HR and in a wide range of management skills. In the course of her career she has worked across all business sectors and for all sizes of organsiations. She is a Fellow of the CIPD has a MBA and a first degree in Education.


Derek Eccleston
Derek Eccleston is an experienced, practical consultant, specialising in the provision of advice and training on employment law and employee relations, through his consultancy Employment Law Training Ltd. He has spent over 20 years in senior HR roles in a number of industries which include local government, engineering and financial services. Derek works closely with a firm of solicitors. He is a Fellow of the CIPD, a Chartered Insurer and has completed an MA in Employment Law with Leicester University. He advises smaller enterprises on HR issues and develops/presents public and in-house events for the CIPD as well as other national training organisations. He is also a personal tutor on the Institute''''''''s Advanced Certificate in Employment Law.
