Returning to membership couldn’t be easier
If you’ve previously been a member of the CIPD or the former Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD), you can rejoin at the grade you previously held.
What do I need to do to rejoin?
Simply fill in the returning to membership application form and return it to us with the relevant membership fees.
If you’re applying to rejoin us as a Graduate or chartered member (previously known as full member), you’ll need to provide evidence of your Continuing Professional Development (CPD). You’ll also need to demonstrate that your work experience is current by enclosing an up-to-date CV.
If you’re applying to rejoin as a chartered member, your CV must demonstrate that you’ve got three years’ relevant current managerial-level experience.
If you’re applying to rejoin as an Associate or Licentiate member you don’t need to provide CPD evidence or submit a CV.
If your membership lapsed after 1 July 2008, you’ll need to contact our Membership team on 020 8612 6208 or memdev@cipd.co.uk to reinstate your membership.
How long will it take to rejoin?
Providing we have all the required information from you, we’ll send your membership card and receipt of payment within ten working days of receiving your application form.
