What you need to know about rejoining

If you’re applying to rejoin as a CIPD professional member - Associate member, Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow - you must be able to demonstrate that you can meet the membership criteria for the grade you're applying for. All members are required to undertake CPD and the CIPD audit members to submit evidence of their CPD. You can read more about CPD here. The CPD policy can be downloaded at here

If you’re applying to rejoin as an Affiliate or Student member you don’t need to provide CPD evidence or submit a CV. Previous Student members can rejoin paying the reduced joining fee and full membership subscription. Please note, if you're no longer in study, and you're planning to upgrade to professional membership then you'll need to pay the full rejoining fee.

    • If you were previously a Licentiate member you'll need to be prepared to demonstrate the criteria for Associate professional membership if asked.

    • Please note that the CIPD regularly audits its members to ensure observance of its CPD policy.

    • Returning Graduate members who are eligible for Chartered membership can apply to upgrade to Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow. While working towards Chartered they can also transfer for free to Associate professional membership. Please note that Graduate membership ends June 2014.

How long will it take to rejoin?

Providing we have all the required information from you, we’ll send out your membership card and receipt of payment within ten working days of receiving your application form.

How much does it cost to rejoin?
