Reinstatement fee

To keep your membership of the CIPD active you are required to renew your membership every year by paying a renewal fee. The renewal fee is due by 1 July every year.

If you haven't paid the fee, or set up a direct debit to pay the fee, by 30 September your membership services will be stopped and your membership will be lapsed. Between 1 October and 30 April of the year when your membership lapses you can reactivate your membership by paying an additional reinstatement fee of £30 as well as your annual renewal fee.

  • Call us on +44 (0)20 8612 6242 to reactivate your membership

Membership fees for existing members

2011-12 membership renewal fee

Your membership is due for renewal on 1 July each year. The 2011-12 membership fee has been confirmed as £130.

If you are a member and think you may be eligible to join one of our reduced fee registers, you'll find more information on eligibility criteria below.

Special membership registers

We offer a number of membership registers to help existing members in specific circumstances remain in membership. Our membership registers allow members to continue benefiting from our member benefits and services at a reduced fee.

Career bridge register

Our career bridge register is available to eligible members who are on a career break or maternity leave. You only need to pay half your subscription fee (currently £65) to get full access to our member benefits and services. Continuing to access our member benefits and services will help support your continuing professional development (CPD).

To be eligible for the career bridge register you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

• You are an Associate, Graduate or Chartered member of the Institute (Chartered MCIPD, Chartered FCIPD or Chartered CCIPD).
• You’ll not be working for at least one year, full or part-time.
• You’re not receiving any remuneration or paid salary (apart from maternity pay).
• You have held membership of CIPD for at least one full year.

You can stay on the career bridge register for a maximum of five years.
