We're now seeking applicants to serve on the newly launched MPD Committee.The CIPD and the profession is evolving, and with our increasingly global reach, this is an exciting time to be involved in the work of the organisation and the development of the profession.
The purpose of the MPD Committee is to support the growth of CIPD membership domestically and globally, and to ensure standards are maintained in relation to activities associated with CIPD awarded and approved qualifications, and routes into membership, including establishing and promoting the HR Professional Map as the global standard, and enabling CIPD to grow as a business and in reputation.
We're looking for applicants who want to contribute to the future of the profession, and take the CIPD forward to deliver on its vision. There are up to 14 places to be filled on the committee for three years from May 2011. Please note, applicants must be:
• a chartered or academic member or fellow
• able to produce evidence of a personal commitment to CPD which will be required on an annual basis.
• able to make the necessary time commitment (an estimated minimum of 3 days)
• currently working in the profession (including paid/unpaid, employed/self employed/consultants)
In selecting members to serve on the committee the overriding factor willl be the contribution the applicant can make to driving the work of the committee forward. In selecting members for appointment particular current needs in terms of knowledge and experience will be taken into account, together with industry/sectoral, geographical balance and diversity of the committee. So do please note, even if your application is a very strong one, it will be balanced with ensuring equal and appropriate representation across sectors and interests.
