How much does photocopying cost?

The price for photocopying journal articles sent to you by post is £13.00 per article. This includes a mandatory copyright fee of £10.00 which is payable to the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA).

Copyright fees do not apply to People Management - we charge £3.00 per artilce for photocopying and handling.

Why are you charging copyright fees?

In October 2003, the Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2498) came into force. These Regulations implement European Union Directive 2001/29/EC, which aims to harmonise copyright law amongst Member States of the EU.

Under the new law, libraries are prevented from supplying copies for commercial research unless fair compensation is paid to rights owners. To comply with the law, CIPD has taken out a new document supply licence with the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA), which will ensure fair remuneration to rights owners in the form of copyright fees.

How do I pay?

Payment, which must be made when ordering, can be by:

  • credit card (Mastercard/Visa/Amex/Diners) or debit card (Switch/Delta/Solo)
  • cash (visitors)
  • cheque (payable to the 'Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development'). Please put your membership number on the back of the cheque.

All charges include VAT.
