The CIPD website has been awarded the Plain English Campaign’s Internet Crystal Mark.
This means that our site has been assessed - the last review was June 2010 - and has met the Campaign’s high standards for clarity and usability. This Mark recognises that the information on our website is as clear as possible for its intended audience. And it shows that we’re committed to using plain English.
We always strive to:
- use ‘active’ instead of ‘passive’ verbs
- keep sentences concise
- use everyday words and avoid unnecessary jargon and acronyms
- consider our audience
- be personal and polite
- make information on our site straightforward to find.
Writing in plain English helps us to keep our website current, professional, authoritative and approachable. Making our site easy to use is a priority for us.
