The Branch Membership continues to fluctuate and there are around 2,100 members living or working within Bedfordshire & Milton Keynes. The coverage of the Branch stretches from Buckingham in the West to Sandy & Biggleswade in the East and from Clapham & Bedford in the North to Luton & Dunstable in the South.
What we offer…
The Branch offers a programme of events aimed at promoting members' education, development and networking. These include updates on employment law, skills development in areas of interest, as well as workshops for those wishing to revisit their CPD or upgrade their membership. Support for those studying CIPD qualifications is maintained through our close links with local education centres and through our annual Student Awards.
All of our events are organised through two geographical groups (Bedfordshire & Milton Keynes) plus our special interest group (Learning Matters 2 Me) and members are welcome to attend any of our advertised events.
The Branch recently held the first of its planned regular event for members who hold a position at Director/Head of HR (and other relevant specialisms), recognising the development and networking needs of those members. During 2008, we will also be launching a Mentoring Network and further information regarding this scheme will be made available through the website and newsletter in due course.
Join your Local Committee(s)...
These services could not be organised and maintained without the support of local members who have volunteered to serve on the Branch and Group committees. Offers of support are always welcome - as well as being fun, participation on the committee offers development opportunities for individuals. That way we all benefit!
All Committee roles are carried out by unpaid volunteers. We value the time people give to their roles and we hope to continue to see the Branch go from strength to strength to provide a service that fits the needs of our members.
