Conflict resolution role-play

14 October 2008 18:30 for 19:00 start
Chiltern Branch

Subject area:  Employee relations
Speaker(s):
Event details:

This event will be run by CEDR, (The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution), and will be an interesting and inter-active role play event based on conflict resolution in the workplace.

Mediation and facilitation of disputes and conflict situations by an independent neutral is becoming an increasingly important part of every HR professional’s took kit. The CIPD, both at central and branch level, are committed to promoting the process and benefits of alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation

This event is intended to bring mediation alive and give delegates the opportunity not only to learn about the process but to truly experience the dynamics of mediation through a live demonstration and commentary.

The session is designed for anyone with an interest in mediation and conflict management. Although the theatre will be a shortened mock version of events, it will give you the ideal opportunity to see mediation in action and ask any questions you might have about what it is and how it works.

The role-play will centre on the mediation of an employment dispute arising out of a bullying and harassment allegation. A CEDR Solve mediator will mediate the dispute live and unscripted.
