Speaker(s): Christine Jenner is a partner at DAC Beachcroft and an employment law specialist advising on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law. Christine works in a number of sectors including recruitment, construction and professional services. She has particular expertise in advising on executive and board level issues, agency workers, TUPE and the employment law aspects of sales and acquisitions. She also works closely with HR departments assisting them on day-to-day employment issues.


Rachel Dineley is an employment partner with a specialism in discrimination law, and leads the Employment & Pension Group's Equality & Discrimination Unit. She is well recognised in her field, and regularly gives strategic advice and practical guidance on a host of discrimination issues. Most recently this has included many aspects of the Equality Act and the impact of the abolition of the default retirement age . She takes a keen interest in developments in and ' reform' of employment law , and works with clients to adopt practical solutions in the pursuit of best practice.

This evening's session will be divided into two topics:

The Agency Worker Regulations came into force on 1 October 2011. The first session will:

  • cover the key legal issues that businesses who use agency workers need to be aware of
  • provide practical advice for hiring managers and Human Resources dealing with the new regulations
  • highlight any lessons learnt in the first four months of the new regulations

Proposals in the Pipeline. The second session will:

  • identify key government proposals for changes to employment law
  • report on the scope of consultation and timelines
  • consider the potential impact of such changes and some of the practicalities
