Gill Gustar

I am a Fellow of the CIPD – and specialise in management and professional development. I provide tutoring support for HR professionals doing postgraduate study with the Open University and work as a coach and mentor to both senior line managers and HR practitioners with an interest in Organisation and Management Development, in which I have a Masters qualification and around 15 years consulting experience.

I have a second Masters in Creative Writing and Personal Development and have published on how this can be used to support coaching work. I am a member of the Board of Lapidus – a leading UK organisation on the use of creative writing to support health, wellbeing and personal development.

Event details:

Being a HR professional in today's organisations means being skilled at reflecting on your professional practice so that you can improve your contribution and gain greater personal satisfaction from your work.

Reflective writing has long been used in other people professions to make the process of reflection deeper and more insightful. This proposed workshop will give you a taster of how to use this methodology, how to link it to the CIPD's Profession map and tools to take away with you.

Come prepared to explore yourself, who you are as a HR ''Professional' - and to have some creative fun.”

The session will include:

  • A brief overview of the field/how the method is being used/where is might be valuable to them
  • Experience of trying out some writing exercises – and of reflecting on these
  • Some fun – this can be quite a liberating/light hearted session

This is likely to appeal to CIPD members from any of the disciplines – generalist, OD, reward – with an interest in their own development and a willingness to experiment.
