Asha is a solicitor in the Employment & Immigration Team and regularly deals with both contentious and non-contentious law matters. She has prepared policies and procedures, drafted directors’ agreements, advised on high-level terminations of employment and defended employment tribunal claims.
Event details: This session will look at this increasingly prevalent and topical area of law, in particular:

  • Those currently eligible to request flexible working, recent extensions of the right and proposals for further development of this right to all employees;
  • Rejecting / refusing a request – potentially legitimate business reasons which may be put forward by an employer in refusing a request for flexible working;
  • Indirect discrimination claims - the effect of the Equality Act 2010 and employment tribunal cases on how an employee might establish a disadvantage; and
  • Guidance for employers in dealing with requests for flexible working.
