This session will consider the impact on employers of recent and proposed developments in discrimination law and family friendly rights. Solicitors from Denton Wilde SapteâÂÂs leading employment team will look at the legal and practical issues facing employers
in this fast moving and complex area of employment law.
Course outline
- The proposals for the Equality Bill including the extension to positive discrimination and wider measures to combat inequality in the workplace.
- Recent developments in discrimination legislation, to include:
- Amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and the impact on harassment, pregnancy and maternity;
- Analysis of recent cases in age discrimination and the ongoing
- challenges to the legislation;
- Developments in disability discrimination, including the impact of recent cases on claims of disability-related discrimination;
- A critical analysis of key decisions and developments in other strands of discrimination.
- Recent developments and proposals in family friendly rights, to include:
- The extension of rights during additional maternity leave;
- The proposals for additional paternity leave;
- The proposed extension to the right to request flexible working.
Who is speaking?
