PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE FOR THIS MEETING

This session will enable you to assess the future of human resources management, review how you may relate to prospective client firms and consider the prospective CIPD initiatives to support members who practice as consultants.

This meeting will be highly interactive among members with the opportunity to discuss points of interests and to raise questions to obtain advice and information to assist thinking about your consultancy work and associated marketing opportunities.

The agenda for the meeting will cover the following aspects preceded by the Chair providing a scene setting presentation:

  • The historical development of the design and operation of human resources systems. 
  • HRM, the resource based view of the firm, and the options for firms to secure HR technical and managerial capability. 
  • The attitudes and needs of small to mid-sized enterprises towards human resources and training provision and support. 
  • Prospective CIPD initiatives including: (1) shared services for small to medium sized enterprises; and (2) mediation and compromise agreements. 
  • Discussion of questions and challenges that the future holds for independent consultants.
Event details: Increasingly members are indicating that they find great value in sessions where we discuss important aspects in the practice of consultancy that draws upon the expertise that resides in the group through an expert panel of members to introduce the subject, and join with you in discussion, in helping you with questions on your current activities and how you might review or develop your practice further.
