A Message from the Chair
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Gloucestershire Branch.
Although Gloucestershire is one of the smaller branches in the CIPD network, we are very proud that it is one of the most active.
I'm also proud of my enthusiastic and dedicated team of committee members who volunteer their time to attend meetings, training sessions and branch activities and events to keep this branch meeting your needs, whether you're just embarking on your first training course or an experienced HR Director.
What do we offer you?
• A chance to get together with like-minded people and keep up to date. In June 2011 we had over 1400 members across Gloucestershire and we're still growing, whilst also developing strong relationships with partners in the educational sector, neighbouring branches and other professional institutions.
• A range of events, special interest groups, CPD support and membership upgrade opportunities to assist you with continuous development in your chosen profession and help you stand out from the crowd.
I hope that you will enjoy using this website to understand more about the activities of the Branch.
Communicating with you
We communicate with all our members quarterly through our branch e-newsletter so if you’re not receiving this for some reason, please check that your 'profile' section is up to date with your latest e-mail address.
We are also able to send direct emails about upcoming events and policy consultations. If you're like me, you already receive a lot of emails from the CIPD, but our local ones have information which can't be found in any of the national mailings. We are very keen to send these to you as well, but we can't do so if you're not signed up for them so click here to request local updates.
And of course, keep checking on this site for updates and news.
Tell us what you want
We want to see the Branch continue to stretch the standard for people management in Gloucestershire.
As a branch, we are all committed to creating more opportunities for membership involvement, engaging with employers and other professional institutes locally on the back of national CIPD initiatives, giving you the events that you want and ensuring value for money.
We also represent local issues and interests in response to CIPD planning and government consultations, thus giving Gloucestershire members a direct influence on both how our institute develops and on wider public policy.
This means listening to your needs and responding to them. After all, this is YOUR branch, and our single focus is to serve you. We have set our plan for 2011/12 with this mission in mind. Please have a look at it and let me have feedback if you wish.
We look forward to meeting you at future events and meetings and supporting you over the coming years.
Best wishes,
Graham Rosam
