GCN: Supervision - how important is it for the coach?

15 July 2009 18:00 for 18:30 start
Gloucestershire Branch

Subject area:  Learning and development
Venue: The Forum, Lansdown Road, Cheltenham, GL50 2JA
Speaker(s): Lise Lewis
Event details:

Research has shown that coaches are not yet convinced about the benefits of Supervision. Work by the leading UK professional coaching and mentoring bodies is leading the way in setting standards for supervision. Buyers of coaching who want quality services increasingly have expectations that coaches engage in supervision.

This session will be led by Lise Lewis.  Lise represents the EMCC on a working group with representatives from International Coach Federation (ICF), Association for Coaching (AC), Association for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS) and The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). The group started in December 2007 with the purpose of working collaboratively on Standards for Supervision.

This is the first joint venture between leading professional coaching and mentoring bodies and Lise will bring you a summary of the latest outputs. The emphasis for the workshop will be sharing ideas on approaches to professional development.

Bring your views and questions to this workshop which provides an opportunity for dialogue on ‘expectations for supervision’.
