Introducing the CIPD's HR Profession Map

Whilst the nights are closing in fast the branch committee are busier than ever on your behalf.

Our student awards event was a great success and one of three excellent events in one week. Our next event should prove to be very popular as Thring Townsend Lee and Pembertons come back by popular request to run a mock tribunal.

So if you have not already done so book online.

Thank you for your feedback on our first e newsletter, it was interesting to hear your ideas and what you would like us to deliver in 2010. For the eagle eyed amongst you, yes we do have 1,350 members!

We will continue to run a diverse range of events over the coming months and support our special interest groups. Do join us, if you haven't already booked there is still time .....and think of your 2009 CPD!

The future shape of branches

Thanks to everyone who contributed to discussions around the future shape of branches. Our Executive Board have agreed the first steps of the project, so we look forward to keeping you informed as things progress.

The CIPD is reliant on its volunteers across a range of activities and through all levels of governance. We are committed to finding a model that will enable these volunteers to be a valuable resource to the organisation and local members.

Introducing the CIPD’s HR Profession Map

Find out where you are in your career and plan where you’d like to be in the future. The CIPD’s HR Profession Map will help you to achieve this.

Developed by HR practitioners for HR practitioners, the map has been designed by specialists and generalists, working across the private, public and third sectors, in the UK and internationally.

Accessible via the CIPD website (full access given to CIPD members) the HR Profession Map outlines what you need to do and deliver across every aspect and specialism of the HR profession. It focuses on the underpinning skills, behaviours and knowledge needed to be successful.

The Map will help you to identify where you are in your career, where you want to be, and suggest how you could get there.
