CIPD Gloucestershire Branch Purpose is:

"to support CIPD members in meeting business challenges through active development of themselves, their organisations and people."

Branch Events

Events are at the core of engaging with our membership ‘face-to-face’. The Branch holds a series of events throughout the year, ranging from focused one-hour sessions on Employment Law ‘hot topics’ to practical skills development for training practitioners, aiming to appeal to the broad range of interests in Human Resource Management and Learning and Development throughout the membership in Gloucestershire. Events are held at a variety of venues throughout the county, at varying times of the day to cater for the needs of the membership.

Details of all events are listed in the newsletter and on our Events page.

Branch Newsletter

There are ten issues of the Branch Newsletter annually (not August and December). It is mailed to all branch members and posted on the website. Apart from advertising the branch events, it includes articles on topical issues and developments within the field of HR and people development. We always welcome articles and contributions from members.

Special Interest Groups

There are two Special Interest Groups (SIGs) within the Gloucestershire Branch.

Gloucestershire Coaching Network

The Gloucestershire Coaching Network (GCN) was set up in the middle of 2006. The network holds events every six weeks, offering topics suitable for experienced coaches and those who are new to the world of coaching – all you need is an interest in learning more about coaching. Attending GCN events offers coaches a chance to develop their skills, share their knowledge and network with other coaches. Events are held in Cheltenham on weekday evenings and a small charge is made to cover costs (currently £5). GCN membership is open to both CIPD members and non-members. The range of topics covered so far includes: Selling Coaching Internally, Managing in a Coaching Style and ROI/Evaluation. All information about events is emailed to the membership and appears on our Events page.

For more information, contact Lise Lewis, Miranda Jenkins or Helen Harrison

HR Forum

HR Forum was set up in 2007. It provides a discussion forum for senior HR practitioners – either in-line or consultants – offering an opportunity to exchange views and network with other people who are experiencing similar issues. Topics are those of current interest such as new developments in HR of strategic interest, new legislation and its application and impact on the business or organisation. Examples of topics covered are talent management and succession planning and the future role of HR. Events are held every two months either from 9-11am or 3-5pm, and are hosted by HR Forum members at venues around the county. All HR Forum events are free to attend. Membership is open to both CIPD members and non-members. When you become a member, a membership contact list is provided, detailing areas of interest. All information about events is emailed to the membership and appears on our Events page.

For more information, contact Helen Harrison or Cathy O'Donoghue.
