Kate Atkin set up Aspire2 ten years ago following a successful careeer with Barclays Bank.  Specialising in communication skills and management development, public and financial services.  She speaks with energy, drive and passion and ensures all her workshops are participative and fun - this will be no exception.

Author of the Confident Manager, Kate is a past winner of the JCI UK Public Speaking competition, a World Debating Champion and in 2007 won the UK & Ireland Toastmasters Speech Evaluation Competition and won the national finals in the Impromptu Speaking competition in 2008.  In 2005 she was recognised as the most outstanding trainer by JCI UK and was nominated for Cambridgeshire Businesswoman of the Year Award.  Yet she was a shy school girl and never dreamt of being where she is now.  Kate's tips come from her own personal experience and she hopes they will encourage you to make your own journey. http://www.aspire-2.com.

How do you ensure your message is clear?  Would a few tips make your communication even more effective?  Could your confidence do with an occasional boost?

The role of HR within business is not always viewed with the gravitas that HR professionsal believe it deserves.  So how do you get your point across?

This short interactive workshop will cover what is the right impact, creating confidence and presenting yourself and provide you with tips, tools and techniques to help you present yourself and your message with confidence.  There will be an element of networking during the evening, so come prepared to move around and meet your fellow CIPD members.

We are also taking the opportunity to link this event with CV writing so you can put the knowledge you learn from this workshop into practice when presenting yourself on paper!  Dealing with CVs daily some the worst presented have been from those within the HR profession!  We tend to provide the best advice to others and neglect ourselves. Advice on individual CV presentation, wording, format as well as an update on the current preferred trends in CVs along with practical hints and tips will be available.  The following experts will be available from 5.30pm - 6.30pm and 8.00pm - 8.30pm.  The experts supporting this event are Kate van der Slui, Business Manager from Charterhouse Recruitment; Dawn Saville, Divisional Manager, Edwards & Pearce; tbc Ashley Kate HR.
