The agency responsible for the compilation of official statistics on the Irish economy, employment, trade, industry, population, and national accounts. Statistics are published simultaneously as paper copies and on-line.
Citizens Information
Government website which provides information on social and civil rights for everyone in Ireland. As well as a wide range of sections relating to areas such as Government of Ireland, justice, employment, money and tax, social welfare and transport, it includes a service finder to assist with finding public services by area and an advanced search.
Data Protection Commissioner
The Commissioner has oversight of data protection policy. Employers must ensure that data held on employees conforms to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1988. The website includes a registration section for data controllers, publications and forms, information on rights and responsibilities, and press releases.
Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment
Controls Irish employment regulations. The legislation and publications sections contain all the major employment legislation. The website also includes sections on employment rights, industrial relations, enterprise, science and technology and international workers.
Department of Justice, Equality, and Law Reform

Equality Authority

Equality Tribunal (formerly the ODEI/Office of the Director of Equality Investigations)
The impartial forum to hear or mediate complaints of alleged discrimination under equality legislation in Ireland. The website includes FAQs, forms, leaflets and legislation, and a database of Tribunal decisions from 1996.
FÁS The Training Authority
Ireland's national training and employment authority and the state body for training and apprenticeship. Its website contains a range of useful information for employers, jobseekers and those undergoing training, including a register of trainers.
Government of Ireland
The main website for the Government of Ireland contains links to other state organisations and government departments, and has FAQs and a large business information section.
Health and Safety Authority
The national body in Ireland with responsibility for securing health and safety at work. The website includes publications, forms, legislation, statistics and research and gives details of their telephone information line.
Iris Oifigiúil
Iris Oifigiúil, the Irish State Gazette, is published twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays). It lists Irish government publications such at Acts and Statutory Instruments. The current issues section gives access to recent editions. The site also has a search facility and an archive section.
Labour Relations Commission
This is the state industrial dispute resolution service for Ireland. The website contains information and codes of practice on industrial relations and includes a link to the Labour Court.
National Employment Rights Authority (NERA)
The National Employment Rights Authority (NERA) is an Office of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and aims to secure compliance with employment rights legislation and to foster a culture of compliance in Ireland through five main functions: information; inspection; enforcement; prosecution; and protection of young persons. Its website gives details of employers' and employees' rights and responsibilities.
Office of the Attorney-General
The Attorney-General is a constitutional officer who advises and represents the government in legal matters.
