Membership Upgrading
Professional membership is the benchmark for best practice in HR. Gaining recognition from the world's largest Chartered HR and development body can give you a competitive advantage.
There are three levels of professional membership;
An Associate member (Assoc CIPD)
• Works in a role giving vital support to the key areas of HR (central HR, learning and development or other professional areas of HR). They use their HR skills and knowledge to support HR leaders and managers.
A Chartered Member (Chartered MCIPD)
• Demonstrates the expertise needed to plan and manage generalist or specialist HR operations. Combining their HR professional knowledge, skill and insights with an understanding of an organisation's context and structure, they create and deliver integrated HR services and solutions that help drive their organisation.
A Chartered Fellow (Chartered FCIPD)
• Holds a strategic position and demonstrates the expertise to lead the key areas of HR. Using their professional skills, knowledge and expertise, they determine, develop and implement HR strategies, plans and policies to promote and achieve organisational success.

There may be members and non members who wish to become professional members and are unable to use to the upgrade process mentioned. Experience Assessment enables highly experienced HR professionals – both generalists and specialists – who do not have the required CIPD qualifications to achieve professional CIPD membership as Chartered Fellow, Chartered Member or Associate. Our foundation certificates and diplomas also give you a professionally recognised qualification and the knowledge towards Associate professional membership. You can choose to follow a HR or L&D pathway and you also have the opportunity to study individual foundation level awards to either start or top up your HR and L&D knowledge.

Intermediate Level NEW DELIVERY MODEL
HR Practice Foundation level qualifications are perfect if you want to acquire a wide range of relevant practical New CIPD qualifications at Intermediate level offer the perfect platform to further develop your HR, L&D or other specialist knowledge after studying a CIPD Foundation level qualification. Alternatively if you're working in HR, but have no professionally-recognised HR qualifications, you can choose to study CIPD Intermediate level qualifications. CIPD new Intermediate level qualifications will give you a broader perspective of the organisational issues facing HR professionals and enable you to develop effective analytical and problem solving skills. The Intermediate certificates and diplomas in HR Management and Development provide the knowledge towards Associate professional membership.

Advanced Level NEW DELIVERY MODEL
CIPD’s Advanced level qualifications are ideal for those aspiring to become effective HR practitioners – whether working as managers or consultants in generalist or specialist roles. Set at postgraduate level, CIPD Advanced level qualifications will develop your understanding or organisations and the changing external context within which HR operates. Using critical analysis, self-reflection and problem solving techniques, you will learn how to develop and implement creative and strategic HR solutions that drive organisational performance. CIPD Advanced qualifications provide you with a professionally recognised qualification, plus our Advanced diplomas provide the underpinning knowledge towards CIPD professional membership (Associate, Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow). Our advanced qualifications are delivered here in Jersey by London South Bank University.

CIPD Foundation Certificate in HR Practice starting November 2011
The new CIPD Foundation Certificate in HR Practice provides a firm foundation in all the areas of HR, as well as an understanding of HR in a business context. It will help learners develop practical, relevant skills and will give them the confidence to be more effective at work. The CIPD Certificate in HR Practice is designed to reflect the new CIPD Profession Map and replaces the former Certificate in Personnel Practice. Completion of the qualification provides the knowledge required for the new Associate level of CIPD membership.
Who is the CIPD Foundation Certificate in HR Practice for?
v Those who are working in a HR in a support role and wish to develop their knowledge and skills
v Those who work in HR and have no formal qualification to support their experience.
v Line managers who are involved in HR and those who have responsibility for HR activities and
decisions within an organisation without a specialist function.
Our Fast Track delivery means that the qualification can be achieved in 5 months – this option is unique to
Compass HR Offshore. We are proud that the first Channel Islanders to successfully achieve the new CIPD Foundation qualification are Compass students. Assessment is through written assignments and practical skills. The practical skills will be assessed at a two day Assessment Centre. There are no exams. £2,950 per delegate to include all workshop tuition, 1-to-1 tutorial, study text, comprehensive guest speaker programme and assessment.
2011 CIPD Foundation Diploma in HR Practice starting September 2011
Who is this qualification for?
For holders of the CPP who wish to ensure that they are up to date with the current CIPD viewpoint and HR professional development, this is an opportunity to top up your existing qualification to the new Foundation Diploma in HR Practice. The Diploma is based around the new CIPD HR Profession Map.
If learners already hold CPP, they will be given exemptions totalling 28 credits, leaving just 3 units required to obtain the new CIPD Foundation Diploma in HR Practice.
Delivery Format
Our Fast Track delivery means that your 3 unit “top up” qualification can be achieved in 3 months –
this option is new to the Channel Islands. Assessment is through written assignments and practical
skills. There are no exams.
