Mediation Matters Ltd has been trading since September 2009, following accredited training through ADR Group, and has successfully mediated several conflicts since. The first one was in Kent and involved 16 different grievances raised by the employee.

Event details: The number of Employment Tribunal claims submitted during Q1 of 2010 – 2011 has increased by 6% on the same quarter of 2009 – 2010 (MOJ 2010). A review of the former SDRP was undertaken and recommended an increased use of alternative methods of dispute resolution at work, citing the success of mediation in other areas of the law (DTI 2007). The report stopped short of recommending mandatory mediation (ibid).

We propose an event that will give a professional overview of mediation to local branch members.
