Employment Law - Santa Claus, Superman and The Lone Ranger!  Don't miss this great employment law event.

Hello everyone!

Summer is drawing to a close and the autumn nights will be soon be with us. I hope you all had a good summer.

We have some great events lined up for you all this season, starting with an event on the 21st September all around talent management theory and practice, presented by Ian Wilson, BSc, MA, ChFCIPD. This will be an interactive workshop in which we will explore what we mean by the term talent management, consider the implications for HR, and look at practical ideas for achieving a talent management approach.

In November Dr Pete Jones, a chartered psychologist and scientist, will be dealing with the area of recruitment and physcology of recruiting. Entitled: The Recruiting Illusion – how we unconsciously see others and think they see us – this promises to be an extremely interesting event.

We have been busy during the summer months and the mock assessment centre will take place on 2nd November at the university. Anyone who has some time to spare, or who is interested in helping us with the assessing, please let us know by contacting Michelle Tranter .......

The mentoring scheme we have set up will start in September and the people who have already voiced an interested will be informed of the date when we will be inviting you all to a meeting.

The coaching network is also progressing well and we have a number of members who are helping out. There will be further news as the coaching group becomes more established. Again, if anyone is interested in helping with this please let us know.

If any of you are interested in any of the above enterprises then please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.

You may remember our last newsletter when I mentioned that Lincolnshire CIPD had been asked to join a forum of business organisations feeding into the Local Enterprise Partnership. I also mentioned that the first issue discussed was the availability of high speed broadband for the Lincolnshire area. If you have been reading the newspapers you will know that the government has pledged money towards achieving more widespread coverage, so this could be a reality for our area within the next couple of years! We will keep you up to date with any further developments – please watch the website.
