Speaker(s): Krista Powell Edwards is a successful local entrepreneur. She started her business, Humanistics, 16 years ago with enterprise allowance and one client. Her client list today includes multinationals such as BP, Siemens, Ford UK, as well as small companies and public sector clients.

Krista has a master’s degree in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She is a certified NLP Trainer and Master Practitioner.

Krista’s purpose is to help people achieve what they want. She believes we are always learning, and can use learning to identify and achieve what we want to achieve. Krista designs and delivers training and development programmes that focus on people learning about themselves, what they want to achieve, and using techniques that enable this. A metaphor is that she helps people find their roadmaps.

She has a particular interest in women’s development and the company’s two flagship programmes are ‘Confidence, Credible and In Control’ and ‘Know it and Show it’. Other company specialisms are time management, customer care, interpersonal skills and management development.
Event details:

In the 1980s the founders of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Bandler and Grinder, investigated how very effective people were achieving their results. They looked at what was making an impact and they distilled the key elements into models. The models can be used to get similar outcomes and results that the effective person was achieving.

As a branch we are aware that many members are leaving employment to set up as independent HR consultants. The beliefs and skills so useful in employment may not be so helpful in self employment.

Wouldn’t it be useful to have a model of what beliefs and skills are required to be a successful HR consultant!

We can.

At this event we will be modelling success, discovering what factors that impact on success as an independent HR consultant.

Our exemplar is a very successful HR Consultant, Nigel Finch.

Nigel Finch left his full-time job as a Head of HR for Bibby Distribution in 2008.
He now manages a small HR consultancy with a staff of 5 and a turnover of over £300k.

What enabled him to achieve his plans?

In this session we will explore the key factors - behaviours, skills, beliefs - that have enabled Nigel to achieve his success.

We will discover the key ingredients of his success, and discuss how we can apply the ingredients to our own situations.

Aim of the event
To understand the factors that enabled the success of a HR Consultant and to ‘try on’ the components

Objectives
• To identify the key factors that have enabled Nigel to achieve his success.
• To apply the components to our own situations
• To devise a plan to move forward

The session will be interactive and no previous knowledge/experience of NLP is required.

The evening begins with a buffet at 6pm, with the main event starting promptly at 6.30pm.  The event will finish around 8.30pm.

Costs:
