SPEAKERS Paul Johnstone and Chris Maddock of Muckle LLP
This session will be delivered by Paul Johnstone and Chris Maddock, both employment partners at Muckle LLP. Chris and Paul will explain how the employment tribunal system
works, give helpful practical tips on how to manage a claim, set out the do's and don'ts if you ever find yourself a witness in a tribunal and demystify the process - through the use of practical examples from their combined 25 years plus experience of dealing with employment tribunal matters.
Paul Johnstone qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and joined Muckle LLP in 1999. He is an experienced Employment Tribunal advocate and has recently successfully defended a complex TUPE claim involving 90 separate claims. Paul is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is also a Board member of Equality North East, which advises employers and employees in the public, private and voluntary sectors on how to improve working practices in relation to equality and diversity within the workplace.
Chris Maddock graduated from the University of Birmingham with a law with French degree and trained as a solicitor with Birmingham commercial firm Martineau Johnson. He joined Muckle LLP in 2004 and has worked with a wide range of clients providing strategic advice and tribunal representation. Chris regularly leads the Muckle LLP employment roadshow sessions and in-house training for clients. Chris is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and a director of The Art Studio.
