We start at 6 pm when a buffet will be available with the main event starting at 6.30pm at the Vermont Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Please also note that the event planned for Wednesday 28 March (Delivering Change by Individual Development” with David Skipsey) has been cancelled.
I am pleased to inform you of a joint meeting we are holding with the Chartered Management Institute. The meeting is on the subject of Mental Toughness a new concept which is rapidly gaining recognition and is a key ingredient in how we respond to challenges and stressors.
Mental Toughness is critical for anyone in a challenging job that wants to succeed and is interested in optimising performance. Developing Mental Toughness can impact in two ways - effective stress management and peak performance attainment. The speaker will be Doug Strycharczyk who has more than 30 years experience in a variety of Line, HR & Consultancy roles with a number of businesses in both the private and public sectors. The meeting is being held in the Barbour Room at the Sage, Gateshead, on Wednesday 4th April 2007, 6:30pm for 7pm. A buffet will be available from 6.30.
Please note that for this event it is necessary to book in advance. If you wish to attend, please contact Tim Burman on Tim.Burman@durham.ac.uk or telephone on (0191 334) 1733
One of our new members has kindly offered to organise a golf day on behalf of the Branch and we would like to gauge interest levels from you.
Corporate “Golf Days” are run by numerous other organisations. These events usually become a very well attended feature of the business calendar. A well-organised and successful golf day can yield the following benefits: revenue and publicity for the Branch; donations to charitable organisations; advertising, sponsorship, networking and PR opportunities to member companies; a fun day out for everyone involved.
Please register your interest by e-mailing me before the end of this month.
Finally, if any members are interested in joining the Branch Committee please contact either me or any of my Branch Committee colleagues (via our website at www.cipd.co.uk/branch/neast) for further information.
Yours sincerely,
A.Leather
Tony Leather – Branch Secretary
