All Change for North London CIPD Newsletter

Welcome to the first edition of the new North London branch e-newsletter.To save costs and resources, we have decided to cease regular publication of 'The North London Messenger' and move to an electronic format instead.

You can now keep up-to-date with North London branch news and activities and find out about our latest events through this quarterly e-newsletter. A paper copy of 'The North London Messenger' will still drop through your dormat once a year - and of course you can always find out what's happening locally by visiting our branch website.

We hope you like this new format - and look forward to welcoming you to one of our events soon.  All our activities are run by local volunteers.  if you'd like to get involved and join our committee, just get in touch.

Don't Miss Out

Make sure you keep your contact details up-to-date or you'll risk missing out on the latest news about local events and activities - as well as important information from CIPD nationally.

If you're about to change your email address, make sure you up-date it on the web.  All CIPD members are now responsible for ensuring their personal information is up-to-date.  Your details are housed in 'My Profile', which you can find in the sitemap drop down menu at www.cipd.co.uk.  This is where you can check and update your personal details, tell us which contact email address you prefer us to use, and update your biography.

We have an exciting programme of events on offer to help you manage your way through the recession and develop your personal skill set.

You can catch up on the latest thinking about effective HR management in a difficult economic climate at Do's and Don'ts in a Downturn, which will follow the official business of our AGM on 21 May.

On 3 June, Judy Apps visits the branch for a session on Speaking with Authority.  Come along and hear her unlock the secrets of the great communicators and find out what it is that allows us to make a strong connection with an audience and speak with confidence and authority.

Motivating Survivors is the theme of our session on 2 July, when Steps Drama will run an experiential drama-based training session.  You can look forward to seeing a piece of forum theatre - an innovative concept where delegates get the chance to alter the course of action, while exchanging experiences and learning with others.

Don't forget to put 15 September in your diary - the date for our next employment law update.
