North of Scotland and Islands

Welcome to geographically the largest CIPD branch...

North of Scotland and Islands branch covers a larger geographical area than any other CIPD branch. We aim to support HR and development professionals in areas of mainland Scotland including Grampian and Highland as well as the Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland.

Many of our 1900+ members live in and around Aberdeen and a regular programme of branch events and special interest group events run in Aberdeen.  To support our outlying membership there are two geographical Groups:

• Highlands and Islands, based around Inverness
• Moray, Badenoch and Strathspey, based around Elgin

We have also relayed branch events to members in outlying areas by video conference.  The committee is always keen to hear from members in the islands and remoter mainland on how the membership in these areas can be supported and involved.

Special Interest Groups

North of Scotland and Islands currently has two special interest groups

• Independent Consultants Group

The branch also organises occasional events for senior practitioners and students.
