We hope to be able to develop our web site into a useful resource that builds on local and national information and enables you to engage with HR activity in our local area. We exist to promote and develop best HRM practice and to raise the image and profile of the Branch representing our member's views. We aim to influence Institute policy on local, national and international issues.
As the largest county in England we face particular challenges, not least planning interesting and accessible events that stimulate current debate and informs our membership.
Our committee are working hard on your behalf. We've appointed college liaison officers to work with local education providers to try and develop our links with the student population, and are particularly keen to encourage student members to engage with our community and to have the opportunity to develop their skills and become integrated into our profession.
Partnership working is important to us and we collaborate with a number of other local Branches through the Northern Area Partnership (NAP), and with other relevant professional institutes.
We're a lively and energetic branch, with plenty of things going on, driven by a committee that is dedicated, hardworking and committed to making the branch a success, and very much member-driven. We're always pleased to welcome new members to our branch and our committee or body of friends of the committee.
