Mock Tribunal Judgement 15th July 2008

Over 50 CIPD South East Thames branch members came along to a mock Employment Tribunal – one of the Branch’s free events - hosted by Mills and Reeve in the City.

The mock Tribunal – made up of a senior Partner at Mills and Reeve and two Branch members – considered a case of constructive dismissal by an employee who felt that she had been badly managed and victimised by her line manager. Members of Mills and Reeve staff acted out the parts of the employee, the line manager and HR manager, as well as the claimant’s and respondent’s legal representatives – there was some jolly good acting and the Tribunal needed to consider both sides of the case carefully. Once the hearing was completed, the Tribunal withdrew to make their decision. The delegates were then asked to debate the case and to vote for whom they thought the Tribunal would find.

With baited breath the ‘employee’, ‘employer and their ‘representatives’ waited for the Tribunal’s decision ...... they found for the employer. For the full judgement click here
