'Diversity for Dummies'

24 September 2008 18:30 for 19:00 start
Shropshire, Mid-Wales Branch

Subject area:  Diversity and equality
Speaker(s): Paul Brennan
Event details:

The title chosen for this event is not meant to undermine the importance and seriousness of the topic under discussion but rather to highlight that the intention is to clarify much of what is going on under the generic heading of diversity within organisations today, specifically for the non-HR experts.  Apologies are offered to the owners of the copyrght to the 'Dummies' series of publications - it is hoped that they won't be offended and after all, imitation is often considered to be the sincerest form of flattery!

The evening will be as interactive as possible to learn as much as possible from the practical every day experiences that everyone encounters.

The outline for the evening is:

  • What exactly is diversity?
  • Diversity and equal opportunities
  • Stereotypes and their impact
  • What are the key drivers at national and organisational levels?
  • Building a business case for diversity
