Our autumn programme has been a very busy one with some excellent events and I hope these have been both useful and enjoyable. The Annual Dinner is a celebration of successful endeavour in Human Resources for the local area including awards for students and businesses. We look forward to hearing more about the winners of the business award in the New Year. We hold these awards to recognise and encourage good practice so why not start to think early about how your company might enter for next year’s awards.
I would like to take the opportunity to remind colleagues about the vast amount of information that is available from CIPD, which acts as a source of help for practitioners and students, but also leads the way in research in people issues. Although not a lobbying body, government and industry about relevant legislation and together with consult the Institute rigorous and leading edge research makes a major contribution to business direction in the UK. I would urge you to take advantage of the help and support available from CIPD to guide you in best practice and ensure that you undertake continuing professional development.
We try to meet the needs of our members locally in our events programme and if you have any areas that you would like to know more about, please let us know and we will try to include it in our programme going forwards.
