Thames Valley

Welcome to Thames Valley Branch!
Our Branch covers the whole of Oxfordshire and Berkshire as well as North Hampshire and with a membership around 4,300 is one of the largest branches in the country.

Keep up to date with what's happening in and around the Branch!
Members can find out about forthcoming events, local news and information through our quarterly e-newsletter.  Future issues will be distributed on or around the following dates:
- Spring: 19 April 2012

We also send out a monthly email about forthcoming events.

If you do not already receive these and would like to do so, please update your email address by visiting the “My Profile” section of the main CIPD homepage using the link below.  If you would like to submit an article for the e-newsletter, please do so at least 14 days before the distribution date by contacting our Branch Administrator.

This home page shows only the next meeting, but as there are sometimes more than one event in the same week, it is worth checking out the list of other upcoming events.

We aim to support, inform and inspire everyone who has an interest in people management in the Thames Valley area.

What can we offer?

- An integrated programme of events throughout the year designed to meet the needs of our members, from students to senior practitioners, and support continuing professional development

- Membership upgrading advice and guidance

- Specialist events and conferences focusing on specific groups of members and/or key HR and Development topics

- A quarterly e-newsletter (usually in April, July, September and January) with news about events in the Thames Valley, information about the CIPD and articles on current HR thinking both locally and nationally

- A Thames Valley CIPD "LinkedIn" Group to share ideas, practice and experiences

- Two Special Interest Groups (SIG): Our Independent Consultants' SIG which focuses on the needs of the increasing number of our members who are self employed or running small businesses as independent consultants and trainers. Our Coaching and Mentoring SIG looks at this area in more detail, and provides members with an opportunity to share good practice and experiences.

Members and their guests are welcome to attend any of our events runs by our four local geographical groups and SIGs:

Speaker(s):

Do you enjoy our events?

Our branch is one of the largest in the country. Our teams of volunteers organise over 35 events each year to support the continuing professional development of our HR colleagues.

If you can offer some of your time and expertise to help as a volunteer, we would love to hear from you.

The time commitment is flexible and the rewards can be tremendous!
Contact a member of the Branch or Group committee for an informal discussion.

Event attendance
We all know that things come up at the last minute and plans change, but please could you ensure that you let us know as soon as possible if you have booked a place at an event and are no longer able to attend.

This will ensure places can be offered to others who might like to attend and help the Branch to ensure we make best use of Branch funds.
2011-12 Programme of events
Again this year we have produced a one page downloadable calendar of our programme of events for the coming year.

This enables us to ensure Branch funds are spent on maintaining the number and variety of events across the Branch and continue to support members' ongoing CPD rather than printing hard copy materials.

Download the 2011/2012 programme here.
