This is an action forum for practitioner discussions on current key business and HR issues. Laura will set the scene and give us food for thought with her session on 'Big Society: Big Issues and forward thinking HR Strategies'. This will be followed by practitioner discussions on:
a) Social Networking and HR - do we really understand social networking and how we can harness it for today's HR environment?
b) Organisational Development in the current economic environment - for example, leaner/flatter organisations, empowerment and the matrix organisation?
c) Equality Act & HR Implications - strategy and practice in your organisation. What are the opportunities and challenges?

These sessions will be facilitated by people who have been drawn from the business, public, and academic sectors to ensure as wide a debate as possible. So, please do come along so that you can share your experiences and explore your business and HR issues with like-minded, local HR professionals.

There is a charge of £12.50 this charge will be refunded to members ONLY on arrival at the event. Non CIPD members and those who book and fail to attend will pay the full cost of £12.50. A full English breakfast will be served and the event will finish at approximately 11:00am
