The CIPD Level 7 Advanced Certificate and Diploma in Human Resource Management is one of the most widely recognised qualifications in the field of HR. It will develop your understanding of organisations and the changing external context within which HR operates.

The qualification is available nationally through CIPD Flexible Learning+, the enhanced flexible learning programme from the CIPD's own learning arm. The learner support elements of the programme are provided by leading CIPD qualification providers selected by CIPD's learning arm to deliver CIPD Flexible Learning+ programmes.

CIPD Level 7 Advanced qualifications are the most widely recognised professional qualifications in the field of HR and L&D. In fact, many job adverts state it's essential to have a CIPD qualification. Being CIPD qualified opens up many opportunities for you and gives you the professional recognition you deserve.

Studying for a CIPD Level 7 Advanced qualification will increase your understanding of organisations and the external context within which HR and L&D operates. The CIPD Level 7 Advanced Certificate

For people who want to focus specifically on one area of study (HR or L&D), the Certificate takes approximately one year to complete. Successful completion leads to Associate CIPD Membership.

The CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma

The Diploma requires around two year's study.  Successful completion provides you with the knowledge required to work toward Chartered membership of the CIPD.

Who is it for

You don't need any academic qualifications to enrol with CIPD Flexible Learning+. We'll give you all the support you need as you progress through your studies, so don't worry if you haven't studied for a while. You do not need to have completed a level 3 Foundation or level 5 Intermediate CIPD qualification to enrol.

 

If you are responsible for implementing HR/L&D strategy and developing policy or change management, or if you are an HR/L&D professional in a team, or have responsibility for HR/L&D development and are seeking to enhance and develop your career, the level 7 Advanced qualifications will be suitable for you.

 

If you've already studied for part of the qualification somewhere else, it's easy to switch to our programme to complete your learning.

Assessments

 

For the core units, assessments differ from unit to unit. There are nationally assessed exams for two of the four core units; Leading, managing and developing people and HR Management in context. In addition, the core unit, Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective, comprises a management research report.

 

For the optional units, assessments differ from unit to unit - they range from traditional written assignments, to more practical skills demonstrations, or delivered presentations. None of the optional units are assessed by examination. 

 

CIPD Flexible Learning+ programme

 

Each of the units that you study through CIPD Flexible Learning+ is made up of:

 

Face-to-face induction

All of the programmes begin with a face-to-face induction day where you will:

  • meet your facilitator and the rest of your study group, usually around a dozen people
  • discuss your timetable for the programme along with any assignments or exams you are required to complete
  • discuss with your facilitator how to set clear study goals and how best to achieve them
  • get advice on how to structure your own personal study time
  • begin sharing ideas with others in your study group.

 

Regular group workshops

You will attend a workshop approximately every four weeks, per module, and complete assessed work connected to each.  The workshops are lively, interactive and practical with a strong focus on workplace application. Lunch and refreshments are provided too.

During your workshops your facilitator will guide you through practical exercises to develop your skills and help you to explore and discuss the theory behind principles and models.

The assessment activities at this Advanced Level are designed to equip you with the ability to apply learning in practice within your own organisation and your work role.

 

Support in between workshops

In between your group sessions your facilitator will be available when you need additional one-to-one support and guidance. You will be able to contact your facilitator directly by phone, email or through the online learning platform, even during evenings and weekends.

 

Learning from others

You’ll be able to network with other learners throughout your studies, face-to-face at the group workshops and online via the online learning platform – giving each other valuable support and advice and sharing your ideas and different perspectives. Learning resources

Unlike many college-based courses, all you learning materials and online resources are provided as part of your study. Designed so they full complement each other, they are cross-referenced and easy to use to ensure you make the most of your own study time and that your learning experience is enjoyable and successful.

Accreditation
On successful completion of the programme you’ll be awarded the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma/Certificate in Human Resource Management. Successful completion of the Certificate leads to CIPD Associate Membership. Successful completion of the Diploma provides you with the knowledge required to work towards Chartered CIPD Membership.

The CIPD Level 7 Advanced Certificate and Diploma in HR Management is available nationally through CIPD Flexible Learning+, the enhanced flexible learning programme from the CIPD's own learning arm. Fees vary according to learning provider but as a guide are approximately:

  • Certificate: £4,197 + VAT (taking one year to complete)
  • Diploma: £7,995 + VAT (taking two years to complete)

The CIPD qualification providers offer study venues right across the UK. Locations include: 


Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Bromley, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Maidstone, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Nottingham, Reading and Southampton.

 

There are multiple start dates around spring, summer, autumn and winter, for all qualifications at each study venue throughout the year.  With CIPD Flexible Learning+, you don't need to put off your studies until traditional, academic start dates.
