Police Forum

The CIPD Police Forum is a group that aims to meet the needs of HR people working in police forces and police organisations in the UK. Unlike the other CIPD Forums it is run externally by a committee of volunteers who work within the profession in police forces.

The Forum has three key roles to play:

  • influencing the development of HR within the police service nationally (the forum chair and committee members hold portfolios for the Association of Chief Police Officers Workforce Development Business Area and have close links with the Association of Police Authorities and the Home Office);
  • learning and sharing of good practice; and
  • members of the forum sharing in events which provide professional development and networking opportunities.

.

The forum holds a conference in June of each year and also has an important network for HR Directors and Heads of HR, known as the Heads of Profession Group, which meets on a bi-monthly basis.  The 2008 conference is on 12-13 June.
