Face-to-face induction
You’ll enjoy a supportive learning environment from day one, starting with a face-to-face induction where you will:
- meet your facilitator and the rest of your study group, usually around a dozen people
- discuss your timetable for the programme along with any assignments or exams you are required to complete (learn more about the qualifications we offer)
- discuss with your facilitator how to set clear study goals and how best to achieve them
- get advice on how to structure your own personal study time
- begin sharing ideas with others in your study group, our learners tell us that this group network provides additional, invaluable support during their studies.
Regular group workshops
Every four weeks or so, you’ll meet up with the same group at your local study venue for an experiential workshop run by your facilitator. The workshops are lively, interactive and practical with a strong focus on workplace application. Plus small groups mean an effective learning environment.
During your workshops, you'll discuss key theories and models as you undertake practical exercises guided by your facilitator. The workshops offer a great opportunity for you to build on your own experiences as well as those of others in the group and the significant expertise of your facilitator.
Facilitator support in between workshops
In between your group sessions your facilitator will be available when you need additional one-to-one support and guidance. You will be able to contact your facilitator directly by phone, email or via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), even during evenings and weekends.
Online support
A unique aspect of CIPD Flexible Learning+ is the online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Between workshops, you will use the VLE to stay in touch with your study group to help and learn from each other in online discussion forums. There you can swap ideas and thoughts, and find out what you need to do to prepare for your next workshop.
The VLE will also help you to structure your study, guiding you through the different resources you have at your disposal so you know what you should be doing and when. It also gives you access to many additional resources from a wide range of journals, textbooks and other essential information sources, including CIPD research.
