All of our programmes include a series of workbooks as part of the range of learning resources. The workbooks are made up of mini-chapters called worksessions which guide you through how to apply the knowledge in the textbooks, address typical issues you're likely to meet at work, help you prepare for assignments or exams and link you to other learning resources. Follow the links below to view example worksessions.
A selection of views from past learners
CIPD Flexible Learning+ provides a realistic way for you to achieve the CIPD qualification you need, opening up career progression and helping you to gain the recognition that a professional qualification offers.
'If you're in the people management sphere, it's probably the most recognised qualification out there.'
Our qualifications are designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge you need to gain both immediate results at work and to advance your professional career.
'It's already started to change the way that I think about things. I think what it will do is get me into a discipline of having this external focus so that you can make sure that you're always ahead of the game.'
'The assignments that I was looking at were very much linked in to the work that I'm doing.'
Depending on the programme, you only have to attend a workshop every four weeks or so – the rest of your time is yours to schedule as it suits you.
'I think it does give you the flexibility to put things on hold when your life gets busy.'
The workshops provide a valuable opportunity to discuss key theories and models as you undertake practical exercises guided by your facilitator. And as our learners tell us, the benefits of sharing experiences and ideas with others are invaluable.
'I like the workshops best because they give you a chance to come together with other people who are doing the same thing as you and share ideas.'
Expert facilitators offer guidance and direction both during workshops and on an ongoing basis, as well as lots of opportunities to network with other CIPD Flexible Learning+ learners in your study group.
'You're not left on your own which I think might be a misconception about studying this route - you do always have networks of people around you.'
'The tutor's always available, you can email them, you can use the difference resources that they have online.'
A great way to find out more about the CIPD Flexible Learning+ experience is to attend an open evening, via an online webinar or face-to-face. You'll be able to hear more student views and have all your questions answered by CIPD and MOL programme managers and MOL facilitators.
* Some of these view will be from learners who completed the CIPD Professional Development Scheme which is equivalent to the current Advanced Level Diploma qualification.
