Find out more about how social partnership worked in Ireland and what the future holds.

Social partnership is a process by which social policy issues can be agreed between the government and the social partners, which include trade unions, employers, farming organisations, national environmental groups and the community and voluntary sector. It was used in Ireland from 1987 to 2009. There is some interest in reinstating some kind of similar mechanism for negotiating national agreements.
