Find out what it's really like to work in HR
Ask any top CEO what makes their business special. Nine times out of ten they’ll talk about people. It may be a cliché, but it’s also true – outstanding people create exceptional organisations.

The CIPD is running a number of interactive sessions this autumn, giving you the chance to find out what a career in HR is really like. Come along to have any of your questions about HR answered and find out if it could be the right career for you. Aside from the CIPD, in each session you’ll hear from recent HR graduates and senior HR professionals from leading organisations.

Overview of sessions

  • Working in HR – Louise Mayhew from the CIPD will present an overview of what the HR profession is all about and the opportunities available to graduates. She’ll also cover where the CIPD fits into HR careers and give some hints and tips for applying to HR jobs.
  • Graduate presentations – recent graduates will present on their early career experiences of working in HR.
  • Challenges of working in HR - an experienced HR practitioner will talk about their career path and give an overview of some of the opportunities and challenges the profession is facing.
  • Open panel discussion - opportunity for students to ask the panel any questions they have about a career in HR.

Who should come along?

Anyone interested in a dynamic business career. Many people working in HR arrive from various study and career paths; so you don’t have to be studying an HR qualification – all degree disciplines are welcome.
