The internet has made searching for jobs more interactive. Organisations are following suit, trying to find more cost-effective and innovative ways of finding talent on the internet.

One of the biggest of the websites used for recruiting is LinkedIn. This professional website enables you to create profiles and connect with others, which can prove invaluable in your job search. Your LinkedIn profile can act as your online CV, so try to highlight as much of your experience as possible. Recruiters can then find you through the key words you've used to describe yourself.

Increasingly, recruiters are using search engines such as Google and Yahoo to search for candidates through using key words. This is called Boolean searching, where coupled key words can reveal surprising results. If you can, post your CV on your own website or on other sites so it may come up in a search.
