A report of issues discussed at the 2009 Voice and Value Conference which was organised jointly by Paul J. Gollan of the London School of Economics, Stephen J. Perkins of London Metropolitan University and Mike Emmott of the CIPD.

At this year’s conference an additional ‘voice’ was added to the ongoing debate around employee engagement between academics and practitioners: in the current economic climate in particular, the role of government policy as a significant factor in the way employee engagement is managed warranted increasing attention.
