The CIPD's ten Principles of executive remuneration are intended to act as a framework to help HR directors and Remuneration Committees when developing executive remuneration policies, practices and structures. These principles provide a decision-making framework to help practitioners think through challenging executive reward issues. The right approach will depend on the organisation in question and its current circumstances. In order to offer further guidance, we have developed Executive pay: putting the principles into practice, a set of questions for organisations, to support them through the process of developing their approach to executive reward and to help identify where further work could be needed before the appropriate approach can be found.
