An interactive tool drawing on key findings from CIPD research in the area of learning, training and development.

It includes three practical instruments:

  • Instrument 1 is a line management audit
  • Instrument 2 enables you to evaluate your organisation’s culture relating to learning
  • Instrument 3 is an aid for supporting and developing line managers, focusing on people development skills and behaviours.

The tool includes an action planning facility to help you take forward key actions and develop and enhance your practice.

Case studies give an insight into the role of line managers in learning and development in Standard and Poor, the John Lewis Partnership, and in two organisations within the Ministry of Defence.
