Voice and engagement: how does collective consultation contribute?

This study reports on evidence from a number of ways in which collective forms of employee voice can potentially support employee engagement.

The main message for employers is that, in developing their engagement strategies, they should not ignore the collective dimension of the employment relationship, which can either undermine or support engagement strategies. Collective consultation is often seen to be particularly appropriate for handling organisational change but it cannot be seen in isolation from the job of protecting and developing long-term relationships with employees.
