Our quarterly survey offers both a current and forward-looking perspective on the UK labour market. It gathers information from 598 HR professionals, and covers all regions and sectors of the UK market.
The aim of the survey is to produce an industry-valued benchmark of key HR statistics which can be used by CIPD members, as well as those in government, policy and wider business circles.
This report looks at the outlook for:
- recruitment and redundancy
- migration and offshoring
- skills
- pay
It indicates that the employment recovery signalled in the spring quarter’s report, which has been reflected in the official unemployment statistics in recent months, has eased over the past three months. Recruitment intentions are similar to their levels in the spring report, but redundancy intentions have picked up.
A quarterly series of Employer Focus reports accompanies the Labour Market Outlook. The May 2010 report looks at views of the impact of some of the employment legislation brought in by New Labour, and assesses some of the key trends.
