We're committed to identifying and highlighting untapped talent. We work with individuals, groups and employers to facilitate their inclusion into the job market. We promote and engage with UK-wide CIPD campaigns and initiatives in a way that maximises the impact in a Welsh context.

Meet the team
Lesley Richards, Head of the CIPD in Wales
Lesley is responsible for representing the CIPD in Wales and our 7,000 members across the nation. She focuses on influencing policy, building partnerships and delivering for members. Lesley has a long history with the CIPD, joining our South East Wales branch as a student member.
Before joining the CIPD, Lesley spent 25 years working in HR, both in professional services and her own consultancy business. She also spent eight years as Group Executive HR Director for one of Wales’ leading marketing and communication consultancies. Lesley continues to run her own HR consultancy with a client base which spans the private, public and not for profit sectors.
Bethan Collins, Engagement Manager, Wales
Bethan focuses on engagement with our members and key stakeholders to progress the policy and public affairs agenda in Wales. She joins us from the Equality and Human Rights Commission, and prior to that has worked with organisations in London and Wales including the League Against Cruel Sports, Citizens Advice and RADAR – now Disability Rights UK.
Annabelle Llanes, Engagement Manager
Annabelle sees stakeholder engagement as a massive member benefit, and brings her experience to shape the offer in Wales and take it to the next level. She joined us from the Institute of Sales Professionals, where she was responsible for the planning and implementation of their event strategy, including member engagement, webinars and roundtables.
Who we’re working with in Wales
Welsh Government
Our relationship with the Senedd and Welsh Government has gone from strength to strength since the inception of the CIPD in Wales in 2016. Our work includes providing Ministers and Officials with first hand insight from our members around the key issues facing the workplace in Wales including employability, flexible working and workplace mental health. We also provide corporate or individual representation on relevant Boards and Working Groups.
