Older workers set to bear brunt of redundancies

Almost one in five employers say they're going to enforce the Government's retirement age policy more vigorously, according to our latest Labour Market Outlook survey report. This free report, with a special focus on redundancy, also reveals that:

  • 26% of employers have contingency plans to make new or further redundancies in the next year
  • managers, professionals and skilled non-manual workers are most likely to suffer from the redundancy cull
  • 50% of organisations surveyed offer redundancy pay above the statutory minimum.
