The Daily Telegraph reports on job losses, arguing that companies are delaying cutting staff costs until after Christmas and that, as a result, new redundancies are likely to take place just after the festive period. The article features remarks from John Philpott, Chief Economist at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Philpott said: “It is our expectation that the biggest spike in job losses will be between January and Easter. It’s going to be a bloodbath then, before possibly levelling off at that level.”
